The SFGB seized a gambling device on which it was probably possible to play online casino games. The SFGB also seized cash worth over CHF 1&#8217;000.-, cell phones and a tablet.<\/p>\n\n<p>The SFGB has indicated that it will evaluate the objects and the statements made by the individuals. It pointed out that the person charged faces a penalty for violating the Gambling Act. Anyone who operates, organizes or makes available casino games without holding the necessary licences risks a custodial sentence of up to five years or a fine of up to 180 days.<\/p>\n\n<p>In its press release, the SFGB also pointed out that, unlike in other countries such as Germany, players who take part in unauthorized gambling in Switzerland are not liable to prosecution. However, any bets and winnings can be seized as part of criminal proceedings against the operator of the unauthorized offer. In Germany, participants in unauthorized gambling may face a custodial sentence of up to 6 months or a fine of up to 180 days (\u00a7 285 German Criminal
