Tracking tools / Tracking-tools
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, United States. Google Analytics uses methods that allow the analysis of your use of our website, such as cookies. The following information is generated by the cookie regarding your use of our website.
Visitor’s navigation path on our sites:
This information is transmitted to a Google server, a company of the Alphabet Inc. holding company, in the United States and stored there. Due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, the IP address is shortened before transmission to the United States (anonymizeIP). The anonymized IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the United States and shortened there. In these cases, we ensure, through a guarantee contract, that Google maintains an adequate level of data protection.
The information is used to evaluate the use of our web pages, to compile reports on activities conducted on our web pages, and to provide other services related to the use of our web pages and Internet usage for market research purposes and to organize our website according to needs. This information may also be transferred to third parties when required by law or when third parties process this data on behalf of Google. According to Google, the IP address is never associated with other information about the user.
Users can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to the use of the website by the user concerned (including the IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at this link.
This processing is justified by the legitimate interest, in accordance with Art. 31 para. 1 FADP, to ensure the functionality and optimization of our Website.
Google Maps
We use Google Maps API (Application Programming Interface, Google Maps) from Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, United States, on our Website for the visual presentation of the geographical location of our members’ offices. By using Google Maps, information about the use of our website, including your IP address, is transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there.
This processing is based on our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 31 para. 1 FADP.
Social Networks
Our website may contain links to social networks. The links do not lead to data transmission to the provider without the user having influence when loading our web pages (no “plugins”). Behind the social network buttons, there is only a link to our presence on the network concerned. No user data is transmitted from our Website to the social network.
Our Website may include the following links:
When you click on a link to one of our social network profiles, a direct connection is established between your browser and the server of the social network concerned. The network is thus informed that you have used your IP address to visit our Website and access the link. If you log into a network while you are logged into your account on that network, the content of our Website may be linked to your profile on the network, which means that the network can associate your visit to our Website directly with your account. If you wish to avoid this, you should log out before clicking on a link. In any case, a mission takes place when you log into the network in question after clicking on the link.
The legal basis for processing data for this purpose is our legitimate interest according to Art. 31 para. 1 nFADP.
Retention Period
We retain personal data for as long as necessary for the provision of the aforementioned services and for further processing within the scope of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 31 para. 1 and para. 2 let. a FADP.
We will retain contractual data for a longer period if this is prescribed by legal retention obligations or if we have another legitimate interest in doing so. Storage obligations that require us to retain data arise in particular from accounting and tax regulations. According to these regulations, business communications, concluded contracts, and accounting documents must be retained for 10 years after the end of the year in which they were last processed. If we no longer need this data for providing services to you or within the scope of other legitimate interests, the data will be blocked. This means that the data can then only be used for accounting and tax purposes.
Transfer of Data to Third Parties
We only transfer your personal data if you have expressly consented to it, if there is a legal obligation to do so, or if it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations or to assert our rights, particularly when you register for conferences or events, especially for online payments for these registrations, and for purposes “of public information through the” directory of our members.

Transfer of Personal Data Abroad
We may also transfer your personal data to third-party companies (commissioned service providers) abroad for the purposes of data processing described in this privacy policy. These companies are obligated to protect your data to the same extent as we are. If the level of data protection in a country does not correspond to that of Switzerland or the EU, we will ensure that the protection of your personal data corresponds at all times to that of Switzerland or the EU, through one of the measures listed in Art. 16 para. 2 FADP (in particular by incorporating the standard data protection clauses previously approved, established or recognized by the Federal Data Protection Commissioner).
For the sake of completeness, we note that under American legislation, U.S. authorities may take surveillance measures and access data, which may also include data transferred from Switzerland or the European Union to the United States. This is done without distinction, restriction, or exception based on the pursued objective and without objective criteria that would allow limiting the access of U.S. authorities to personal data and their subsequent use to certain strictly limited purposes that would justify access to this data.
We expressly draw your attention to this legal and factual situation so that you can make an informed decision regarding your consent to the disclosure of your data to persons who are domiciled in the United States or who are likely to carry out the processing of the data concerned in the United States.

You can object to data processing at any time, particularly to data processing in connection with direct advertising (for example, against advertising emails). You also have the following rights:
Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data processed by us against manipulation, partial or total loss, and unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are constantly improved in line with technological developments.
We also take internal data protection very seriously. Our employees and subcontractors have been obligated by us to maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the computer or smartphone you use is properly secured and protected against malicious software such as Trojans, computer viruses, and worms. You are aware that without adequate security measures (including secure web browser configuration and up-to-date anti-virus software), there is a risk that the personal data and passwords you use to protect access to your personal data may be disclosed to unauthorized third parties.
In the event of unauthorized access to data by third parties, both the ODA and the user must inform each other without delay to allow the necessary security measures to be taken.
